We're lucky to have some pretty good people making, growing and producing things around Mangawhai and the wider Northland area.

    The first thing most people order, and worth getting right.

    Good bread makes a difference.

    A little heat goes a long way.

    We use Mangafyre's hot honey at The Local — sweet, spicy and very easy to become slightly obsessed with.

  • Corner Paddock

    Based around Tomarata and Te Arai, Corner Paddock is producing some seriously good local dairy products.

    It's exactly the sort of local producer we're happy to support.

  • Jen's Pastries

    Local baking done properly.

    Jen's Pastries supplies some of the good stuff you'll find around Mangawhai, and we're very happy to have them on our local favourites list.

    Made right here in Mangawhai.

    We use Mangawhai Gelato at The Local — a very good reason to leave room for dessert.

  • MKM Pasture Farms

    Good eggs start with good farming.

    We use eggs from MKM Pasture Farms, where the focus is on pasture-raised farming and producing quality eggs.

  • Schippers

    Made right here in Mangawhai, they're a great example of the creativity and craft happening in our own backyard.

    Schippers is behind two local spirits we are proud to have at The Local — Mangawhai Gin and Herr Dokter.

    We're always keen to see more local wine represented around here, and Brookelane Vineyard is one we are keeping an eye on. A local vineyard, close to home and well worth a visit if you're exploring the area.

    A proper local butcher, right here in Mangawhai Village. Quality meat, house-made products and a good reason to shop local.

  • Mana Mānuka Honey

    A local honey producer worth knowing about. We're lucky to have some great honey being produced around Mangawhai, and Mana Mānuka Honey is one we're happy to champion.

We like knowing where things come from. From the coffee in your cup and the beer in your glass to the eggs in the kitchen and the hot honey on your plate, we're always looking for good products and good people close to home.
